We value your privacy at BasePack. You have full control over your data, including the right to delete your entire account or specific portions of your data.

1Delete Your Entire Account

This will permanently remove your profile and all data associated with BasePack across all our servers. This action is irreversible.

Mobile App

Open the BasePack mobile app.

Go to Settings → Profile.

Tap 'Delete Account' at the bottom.

Verify via password or OTP.

Web Application

Sign in at basepack.app/app.

Navigate to the Settings tab.

Scroll to the 'Danger Zone'.

Confirm with password or email OTP.

Immediate Effect: Account deletion results in the immediate removal of your profile from our active database. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 30 days for disaster recovery purposes before being purged.

Only want to delete specific data?

You can request to purge specific data (like your history or journals) without closing your entire account.

Specific Data Deletion

What data is affected?

When you request deletion, we purge the following categories of data from BasePack servers:

Authentication Data

Encoded password, email, and authentication tokens.

Personal Profile

Username, avatar image, bio, and social links.

Packing Lists

All list names, items, weights, and categories.

Gear Inventory

Complete gear library and linked specifications.

Trip Journals

Written logs, trail stats, and GPS maps.

Media Assets

All uploaded photos and file attachments.

Data Retention Policy

Once you confirm deletion, your data is marked for immediate removal from our production servers. BasePack retains encrypted backups for a maximum of 30 days solely for disaster recovery. After 30 days, all data is permanently and absolutely purged. We do not retain any user data after this period except where required by Canadian law for financial records (subscriptions).
